This area offers breathtaking views and interesting subcultures. The North East mountainous areas of Ba Be Lake, Cao Bang and Ha Giang offer unique opportunities for rugged jeep rides and trekking routes. It is the least traveled area of the north and often attracts the more hardy travelers craving a glimpse of some of the more remote ethnic minority people
Day 1: Arrive Ha Noi
On arrival at Ha Noi Noi Bai Airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel where we will have a welcome drink and tour briefing.

Day 2: Ha Noi - Thai Nguyen - Ba Be (B)
Travel north along Hightway 3 to Thai Nguyen , Worth a visit here is the Museum of the Cultures of Viet Nam Ethnic Groups. Leaving the delta behind, you'll start climbing into the mountainous area of Ba Be National Park. After checking into ‘homestay’ in Pac Ngoi village, we will have free time to walk around this village of the Tay people.

Day 3: Ba Be – Cao Bang (B)
We will spend the morning visiting the beauty of Ba be lakes on the local canoes, glide along the river and through the pretty cave, the tranquil Ba Be lakes for its majesty.
We continue to drive towards Cao Bang. Here the ethnic people of H’Mong, Dzao, Tho and Nung live together in harmony. We will arrive in Cao Bang town for check in, free walking around the town. O/N in Cao Bang.
Day 4: Ba Be – Ban Gioc Waterfall (B)
Car ride to Ban Gioc, visit the waterfall On this day you'll take a scenic insightful day trip north of Cao Bang to the beautiful Ban Gioc waterfall on the Chinese border. This picturesque, cascading waterfall is 53 meters high and has an impressive span of 300 meters. The drive there offers unique landscapes, limestone karst formations soar from the verdant rice paddies of the surrounding farms of local ethnic minorities. Along the way, you'll see Tay, Hmong and Dzao ethnic minority groups. Heading back to Cao Bang, stop to explore the expansive 2,144 meter Nguom Ngao Cave to discover its brilliant stalactites. Return to Cao Bang and overnight in Hotel.

Day 5: Cao Bang - Lang Son (B)
We depart from Cao Bang to Lang Son. The road winds its way through steep mountain passes where much of the land remains untouched, the vista views are truly spectacular. We also traverse Dong Khe and That Khe on the route and Lang Son is the capital of this mountainous area and is an important crossing and trading route with China, the area is home to Dzao, Man, Tho and Nung ethnic minority groups. Overnight in Hotel.

Day 6: Lang Son - Hanoi (B)
The central market of Lang Son and the legendary Tam Thanh Cave are visited this morning before we travel by roads back to Hanoi, truly one of Vietnam’s most impressive scenic sights. The journey is long and challenging at times as we drive through many mountain areas. Their breathtaking scenery is some of the best in Asia. We encounter en route many ethnic minorities doing their daily works such as logging, herding buffalo and tilling the field. We arrive in Hanoi in the late afternoon.

Day 7: Depart Ha Noi (B)
