“The Legend of Gam River” is a new product linking destinations Ha Giang and Tuyen Quang. The product combines road and waterway tourism routes, historical sites; exploiting the depth of indigenous culture of the two localities. The product simultaneously positions a new destination, increasing the attraction of tourists to return to Ha Giang – Tuyen Quang.
Through the association, businesses and localities will work together to build new directions in product development; effectively exploit natural tourism resources, along with a system of cultural and historical relics, craft villages, and rich cuisine. The association in developing tourism products will also help to position and create unique products, avoid duplication, and have cultural depth; at the same time, increase the effectiveness of communication work, promote destinations, improve services, and improve the quality of human resources in tourism services…
“We expect to create a new attractive highlight product through the assessment of similar resources between the two localities in the Na Hang hydropower reservoir cluster. Thereby widely promoting the typical inter-regional products of the two localities, expanding research on other typical products of Ha Giang – Tuyen Quang in terms of revolutionary historical relic tourism, spiritual tourism…” – Mr. Dinh Ngoc Thanh, Deputy Head of Tourism Management Department, Ha Giang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism said.
The journey “Legend of Gam River” takes visitors to explore the remote Northeast region with a completely new landscape. Moss-covered rammed earth houses, precarious cat-ear mountains, terraced fields stretching across the hillsides, or villages nestled in valleys with many contrasting colors interwoven in the flood season… Visitors’ journey will explore the “red address” land of Tuyen Quang with the legends of Tan Trao communal house, Na Lua hut… Visitors will return to the days of secret activities of the Vietnamese revolution, experience the spacious Tan Lap Cultural Village today; experience a “resistance meal” right in the old house where General Vo Nguyen Giap used to live. The unique and novel point here is that visitors can experience rafting and listen to Then singing performances on Na Lua Lake – a new service promoting the World Heritage of Then singing of the Tay people.
After visiting and experiencing Tan Trao, tourists travel to Ha Giang by car to experience the destinations on the Dong Van stone plateau. Here, tourists will exchange culture, learn about the lives of indigenous people in Pa Vi village, visit Lung Cu flagpole; learn about Hanh Phuc road, drink coffee and watch the Nho Que river canyon, conquer Ma Pi Leng pass, explore Meo Vac; walk to explore Du Gia waterfall, hear the breath of the mountains and forests from Mau Due road, explore Lung Ho fort relic and return to Tuyen Quang by waterway on Gam river to form a closed loop. Leaving Ha Giang at Bac Me wharf, going down the Gam River back to Tuyen Quang, tourists continue to explore the magical land of Tuyen Quang with Do Mountain, Khuoi Pin Cave, Vai Pha stakes, Khuoi Nhi waterfall; enjoy a meal on a cruise with a menu of lake fish and local specialties. Tourists can also exchange culture with the Lam Binh people, learn about the mysterious fire dancing custom of the Pa Then people; cycle and explore Lang Can town, experience making banh trung ant, a local specialty… Na Hang – Lam Binh eco-tourism area has a mysterious beauty, hidden behind the mist; the scenery of mountains, rivers and water blends with the scenery of clouds and sky.
