The national park has a large area, stretching 80 km through 3 provinces: Vinh Phuc, Tuyen Quang, Thai Nguyen. The park has a total area of ​​nearly 33,000 hectares, mainly natural primary forest. Tam Dao National Park is a valuable resource warehouse, preserving high biodiversity with many rare endemic species of animals and plants.

According to statistics, Tam Dao National Park has 1,141 animal species (39 endemic species), 1,436 plant species (68 endemic species), some rare species such as paramesotriton deloustali, paphiopedilum orchid, dendrobium ochraceum, amentotaxus argotaenia…

The climate of Tam Dao National Park has high humidity, cool temperatures, and vegetation is always green all year round.

In order to achieve the goal of developing ecotourism, in recent years, Tam Dao National Park has coordinated with mass media agencies to produce many reports, videos, and clips promoting Tam Dao National Park; Build experiential tours at the National Park; build souvenir booths from typical products of Tam Dao mountains and forests.

Coming to Tam Dao National Park, visitors can visit Kem stream, Chat Dau valley, Bear Rescue Center…

The path is not too difficult, but visitors have to overcome many types of terrain, starting with forest trails, walking on monkey bridges, and wading through slippery streams.

On the way, visitors can encounter typical plants of Tam Dao such as yellow tea flowers, red tea flowers, rhododendrons, wild orchids and some animals such as Teinopalpus imperialis butterflies, black squirrels, Macaca artoides monkeys…

Along the way there are always chirping birds and colourful butterflies flying everywhere. At the streams and waterfalls, tourists are able to soak in the cool water.

Also in that space, elegant pleasures such as reading books and enjoying tea become more poetic, giving visitors new experiences. Visitors can also make their own scented bags from natural herbs picked from the green forests of Tam Dao.

Propaganda and education activities to raise environmental awareness for students and the community are one of the important goals and tasks of Tam Dao National Park. The park has built a tour “Discovering the National Park with me” to attract students to visit and study.

Joining the tour “Discovering the National Park with me”, students learn general information about the National Park; management and protection of Tam Dao National Park; learn about the biological habits and identification characteristics of rare animals in the Vietnam and world Red Books, especially some precious medicinal herbs that are beneficial to health.

Children also practice skills such as hanging hammocks, taking down tents, finding shelter and escaping in the forest. Through activities, children understand the role and value of forests in human life, practice life skills, survival skills in the forest, and enhance their own responsibility in protecting forests and biodiversity.

Mr. Nguyen Duc Khai, Deputy Director of the Center for Environmental Education, Tam Dao National Park, said: “In addition to forest management and protection, Tam Dao National Park focuses on developing eco-tourism associated with rescue and conservation work in the park. Coming to Tam Dao National Park, visitors can experience and explore the beauty of the primaeval forest, participate in trekking, camping, fishing, and bathing in streams…”

Currently, Tam Dao National Park has introduced to tourists typical souvenir products such as butterfly and insect specimens; dried flower and leaf paintings; Mascot Baby Azalea (mascot designed specifically for Tam Dao National Park); badges, keychains, etc. The products are well received and have positive feedback from tourists, showing positive signs in the development of ecotourism in Tam Dao National Park.
